Thomson outfitters is one of the oldest outfitting businesses in the state of Wyoming and is still family owned and operated. The business was started by Lee Thomson in 1936. Lee planted fish in alot of the high country lakes, either by pack horse or in cream cans on his back. In 1954 the business was passed on to Lee's son Dick Thomson. Since then it has seen 3 other generations grow up in the area. Our guides were raised in our camp and
have lived and hunted in this area all their lives.
As you look at your map of the Winds, you may see the Thompson lakes (a misspelling never corrected). They were named after Lee and Cora Thomson. This is just a little of the history of the Thomson family business that we'd like to share with you. Come out and explore our back yard, the Wind River mountains.
